Microsoft Bing has added some new metrics to the search report in Bing Webmaster Tools. The new metrics include crawl requests, crawl errors, and indexed pages - which aren’t really directly related to the performance of your search results on Microsoft Bing. Frank Sandtmann, a German SEO consultant, informed us about this new feature this morning and it is very new. We do not see a statement on this from Microsoft.
Nor does Microsoft’s current documentation mention these three new metrics. What does it look like. Here is a screenshot of the new whatsapp phone number list graph generating the new metrics, crawl requests, crawl errors, and indexed pages. This is what it looked like when Microsoft released it in February 2020. Microsoft added the “average location” metric by 2020 but recently added crawl requests, crawl errors, and indexed pages.
Why crawl and inject data into this report. Bing has set up crawling and indexing reports in other areas, such as sitemaps reports, crawl monitoring and URL monitoring tools. But now you can see, over time, how Bing crawled and indexed your site and if there were any errors. This brings all the data into one place, where it may be needed. Why do we care? This provides more data for webmasters, website owners and publishers as they try to understand how their websites work with Microsoft Bing search.
